Christie Snelson is an emerging artist based out of southwest Missouri who desperately loves to paint. An unexpected love affair, she didn't pick up a paintbrush until her first semester of college and ended up with a BFA from Missouri State University in 2013. Since then, she has not stopped painting. While the subject matter is critical and usually guided by current interests, trending hashtags, or clients' concepts, her muse is the illusion of color and creating a sensation of light and space.
Christie’s work can be found in many private residences and businesses internationally, across social media, and even one of her pet portraits hangs in Doug the Pug’s office. She is currently a gallery artist at Obelisk Home, commissions custom paintings as “Art by Christie Snelson,” and is an active member of the Springfield Regional Arts Council in Springfield, Missouri.
